Wholesale Underwriter - Long Island, NY
Commercial Lines Wholesale Underwriter
Location Garden City, NY
Salary $80-120,000
Our Client, a Well-known and respected Nassau County, Wholesaler seeks an underwrite to review, evaluate, market, and place commercial policies. The book is large. Diverse and 90% of the business is renewal.
Responsibilities

Manage the assigned book of Business.

Maintain professional relationships with Brokers and carriers.

Knowledge of coverage and markets.

Determine risk and market selection for renewals as well as new business.

Bind risks within authority and broker risks beyond authority.

Examine and evaluate documents, applications, reports, etc.
Qualifications:
-
Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and collaborative team skills
-
Ability to obtain quotes/rates, present proposals, explain company underwriting policies and coverage offerings, as well as servicing existing accounts.

Prepare submissions for rating and handling by the support staff

Capable of performing essential computer related job functions and associated tasks.

Ability to operate office equipment.
