Middle Market Commercial Line Team Leader

Location: Garden City, NY

Work Week: Hybrid three days in Office two days at home-

Salary $175,000 + Executive Benefits and 2 performance bonuses 

Due to retirement, Our client, a Top 25 insurance broker, recognized nationally for excellence, is seeking an experienced Commercial Team Leader to join its organization. This role will lead a dedicated team of five professionals, including two Account Executives, one Account Manager, one Associate Account Manager, and one Technical Assistant.

The book of business is predominantly middle market with concentrations of real estate, Not-For-Profit,  light manufacturing/distribution, and small business (BOP) segments.

The ideal candidate will have prior team leadership experience or be ready to take the next step into a leadership role. Experience servicing non-profit clients is preferred but not required.

This is a hybrid position; however, the selected candidate is expected to work in the office for the first few months to support onboarding, training, and team integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a middle market Commercial Team
• Manage, train and grow 5 middle-market Account Executives and associates. 
• Interact with clients, carriers and business partners as the Team Leader
• Make better brokers out of your direct reports
• Personally manage a $1.5 Million income book
• Serve on the management committee 

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of insurance industry experience servicing clients
• Strong risk evaluation, strategic, crisis resolution, presentation, and closing skills
• Excellent People skills including conflict resolution and team building
• Experience leading Executives, CSR's and assistants servicing middle market clients
• Insurance management experience
• Capable of multi-tasking and working on multiple projects simultaneously
• NYS Property and Casualty license
