Wholesale Underwriter - Westbury, NY
Commercial Lines Wholesale Underwriter
Location Westbury, NY
Salary $80-120,000
Our Client, ane of the most successful brokers in the Tri-State-Area requires an underwriter to review, evaluate, market, and place commercial policies as well as mantain relationships with client brokers. The book is large. Diverse and 90% of the business is renewal.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and Market Insurance Submissions.
- Responsible for meeting Production Goals.
- Responsible for maintaining Submission and Production reports.
- Responsible for creating Sector Loss Summaries and Analysis reports.
- Assist in the development and improvement of the insurance offerings within AIS.
- Maintain carrier and underwriter relationships (in-person & remotely) with our appointed markets as well as assisting with the sourcing of new carrier appointments as is necessary.
- Maintain broker and agent relationships (in-person & remotely) in line with meeting production goals.
- Assist in the creation of BP’s for the potential transitions to binding authority.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of insurance policy language and intent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to operate under pressure
- Strong problem solving, conflict resolution, and collaborative team skills
Ability to obtain quotes/rates, present proposals, explain company underwriting policies and coverage offerings, as well as servicing existing accounts.Prepare submissions for rating and handling by the support staffCapable of performing essential computer related job functions and associated tasks.Ability to operate office equipment.
