Director of Risk Management and Insurance - Woodbury, NY
Director of Risk Management and Insurance
Location: Woodbury, NY
Salary Range: $175-200,000 + Executive benefit and Bonus
Our Client, a global construction Giant seeks a Senior Risk Manager to manage their US Subsidiary located on Long Island
Responsibilities
- Identify, manage and reduce professional liability, property, and casualty risk involving multiple locations and potential acquisitions.
- Focus on risk assessments and contract review
- Evaluate ongoing business needs within current business structures to determine additional coverage or modification of current coverage to better protect assets
- Oversee the placement of Owner’s Interest Liability and Builder’s Risk policies for new construction.
- Evaluate policies of prospective general contractors to ensure proper coverage and exclusions do not impact the scope of work.
- Working with brokers and consultants to ensure competitive premium savings upon renewal
- Make recommendations as to which contractors are approved or are not recommended to perform work.
- Provide risk management insight on vendor and lender agreements in accordance with insurance and indemnity clauses within contracts to ensure proper risk transfer
- Negotiate insurance provisions to ensure requests are reasonable and within risk tolerance.
- Conduct annual insurance review to assess current market conditions, its effect on current pricing levels, upcoming renewals and obstacles if any to Partners and CFO.
- Support accounting and budgeting activities associated with insurance premiums and other departmental costs.
- Manage all incident reports and insurance claims and associated legal matters to maximize property insurance recoveries and minimize liability losses.
- Respond to questions from brokers, claims representatives, and property managers regarding claims or lawsuits.

- Qualifications
- Professional who is a solution-focused team player capable of advising and supporting Management
- Minimum 10 years Risk Management or Brokerage experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Coverage
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- High level organization and process consistency
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably with area of study in Business, Finance, or Risk Management. CRM, ARM or CPCU designation is beneficial.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe
