EXCESS UNDERWRITER:

  • Write Excess Liability and Umbrella for construction risks (Authority: $50 million with three pens)
  • Develop positive business relationships with wholesale and retail brokers
  • Determine acceptability of risk in accordance with guidelines and standards
  • Choose the appropriate carrier based on risk and pricing

 WHOLESALE UNDERWRITER

  • Develop and place business 50-60 brokers
  • Review submitted risks and determine the best markets
  • Build business relationships and resolve issues in a professional manor
  • Create marketing plans acceptable to the broker and place the business
  • Advise clients on risk exposure and ways to mitigate risks
  • Notify Retail Agencies of adverse underwriting decisions, rate appeals, requirements, and declinations

 

Retail Account Executive- Provide all P/C brokerage services and support to clients including but not limited to General Contractors, Artisans, Auto repair/collision shops, Mom & Pop shops, Transportation Companies, Nursing Homes, Supermarkets, restaurants and other business typical of the tri-state area. Clients are mid sized and most pay premium of $5,000 to $200 million.

  • Expedited Binders, Certificates of Insurance, Schedules, while renewing/amending existing policies
  • Created detailed Excel spreadsheets tracking commissions, marketing trends, budgets and revenue
  • Leveraged existing business by cross-selling health benefits, life, dental and disability insurance to existing clients
  • Improved client retention from 60% to 87%
